ABSOLUTE BEGINNER BALLET

Whether you are missing your childhood bunhead days, or ballet has been lingering on your bucketlist for too long, this introductory class welcomes you with open arms and pointed feet!

Exercise your body and mind as one! In an amiable and attentive setting, adults of any age partake in a progressive course. No previous experience needed; everyone is welcome! This class is an introduction to the study of classical ballet. The main focus will be on learning basic ballet technique. Emphasis will be placed on proper classical alignment of the body. All concepts are taught through a process of explanation, demonstration, and repetition.

Escape the stress of the work day and engage, enrich, and educate yourself on a challenging discipline that will leave you feeling free and looking forward to every class.

BALLET SCULPT/STRETCH

This ballet based fitness class is a full body workout that will combine ballet exercises and stretches that work towards a more defined, longer, stronger, leaner YOU!

Strengthen, lengthen, and tone those muscles that are normally unaccustomed to being used. Be prepared to work on body alignment, toning, turn-out, and flexibility----in the same way that the dancers on stage do! By using positioning and gravity, this class will help teach how to properly engage and utilize your muscles in an actual ballet class. All skill levels welcome for a full body workout!

Students may wear ballet attire, or clothing that is comfortable and allows easy movement, and bare feet or ballet shoes. Don't forget your yoga mat and water bottle!

Saturdays, 12:30:1:20 PM (CT)

DEEP STRETCH

Calm your mind, all while standing straighter, and increasing your flexibility and range of motion!

Stretching has the potential to decrease injury by increasing blood and nutrient supply to muscles. You will learn how to safely stretch and we'll even make time in class to work on balance and strength, too. Ballet based stretches will increase your flexibility, relieve tight muscles, make you stronger, and help you move better in other dance classes. Leave with a clearer mind, recharged body, and energetic spirit, ready to conquer the rest of the day!

Students may wear clothing that is comfortable and allows easy movement, and bare feet. Don't forget your yoga mat and water bottle!

YOGA

Are you feeling super stressed out? Take sixty minutes to yourself and completely turn things around! This is a calming, yet uplifting yoga sequence to de-stress. This class aims to cultivate mindfulness by teaching breathing techniques and exploring movement within a participants' capacity. It opens up the chest and legs, it encourages a quieting of the mind and invites mindfulness. We'll quiet the chatter in our heads, let go of anxieties and worries, and focus on meditation in movement. The intention is to create an environment where students can self-discover their highest potential of awareness, patience, and love through their own personal yoga practice.

Students may wear clothing that is comfortable and allows easy movement, and bare feet. Don't forget your yoga mat and water bottle! For our hip-opening sequences, use a yoga block if you have one or a big book would work as well.
